DISPLAX Multitouch Platform is a software that lets you run independent apps inside of it, just like the OS of a smartphone or tablet. It was designed for bigger-than-tablets market, from 23’’ to giant sized screens of 100’’ or more, to fully take advantage of multitouch and multiuser concepts. It uses an innovative interface approach that doesn’t have one correct side of the display to interact with, so that all the users around a table, for instance, can naturally interact with the contents.

The software includes apps of images and videos, and integration with social networks (Facebook and Twitter). You can create thematic collections of videos or images and let people navigate through them simultaneously. Set up your Facebook or Twitter accounts and do the same with your posts and tweets.

This software is aiming for B2B markets where it is important to display informative or entertaining contents, such as Museums, Retail stores, Shopping Centers, TV studios, GIS, Advertising, Brand Experience and Events. For instance, in a Museum you can have a multitouch table with more images about the ancient artifact that is being showcased, videos explaining how it was used and the Museum’s Facebook and Twitter accounts, to promote cross-platform engagement. If it is in a store, you can have images of the products, videos of the ad campaign and the brand’s Facebook or Twitter accounts.

Just like with smartphones and tablets, more apps can be bought using the online DISPLAX App Store created for this purpose. There are already apps to view PDF files, to mix media files and games. A pool of developers is also being gathered to start using the framework and develop multitouch applications for large displays that they will sell through the DISPLAX App Store.

This software runs on Windows 7 and can be used with any kind of touchscreen.
