The purpose was to create an ethnographic space that could spread the cultural heritage of the region of Barroso, using innovative technologies with the ability to engage the visitor through browsing with its different contents.
The city council of Montalegre decided to promote the recovery of both cultural and natural heritage, improving its natural resources, and enhancing the practices of the rural Barroso area. The goal was to promote the objects, the knowledge and the culture of this region in a technological way to reach different publics.
Currently, being a museum of passive exhibition is not enough. It is necessary to promote direct contact with the different knowledge available, and to give the visitor an unforgettable, educational and striking experience.
